Log Cabin Melodies

March 23, 2011 in Architecture, Design by Zoran

Hans Liberg has got himself one of the coolest recording studios on planet Earth!  Take a look at this woody gem of a cabin, located in the town of Hilversum, The Netherlands.  Put together by his pal, an established furniture designer by the name of Piet Hein Eek, the structure features an absolutely fabulous facade of stacked logs.  Even a row of clerestory windows get the full log treatment, and when opened they fill the compact interior with natural light…

Good mornin’ Hans, thanks for showing us how the windows work!

Konect Tokyo USB Concept Watch

March 10, 2011 in Technology by Zoran

Design submitted by Olivier from France.

Olivier says: “I used to lose my USB key often so I came up with the idea to attach the USB key to my watch. Basically, the features are identical as the Escape C watch (skype, MP3 and Bluetooth) with the possibility to use bluetooth headphones and the USB key to store music or any computer data.

I wanted a very futuristic design like you could find in the next big Sci-Fi movie. Have a look at the images below to see how the time can be read. I think this watch design would be ideal for geeks, Sci-fi fan, modern people in general. The shape is unusual and I think it would be the first USB key watch.”

February 2, 2011 in Technology by Zoran

It’s true that using a keyboard with your iPad works well, but in retrospect, doesn’t it just transform your tablet into a regular computer? Elecom doesn’t think so, and they’re about to release their keyboard and matching stand to fit your your iPad.

InOne All-In-One Computer Concept

January 24, 2011 in Technology by Zoran

Design to be a true All-in-one computer the InOne concept has been designed by Jakub Záhoř . The InOne system incorporates a 22″ screen, keyboard, touchpad, speakers and a digital tablet all in one elegant casing with detailing that looks as if it was inspired by Tron. With a touch tablet positioned just above the front keyboard the system would make it easy for designers or artists to to create work using a stylus or similar. Unfortunately the InOne is just a concept at the moment so there aren’t specification as such but the overall design looks very original.

Dumping BlackBerry, Going Android

The time has come for some change. After years with the BlackBerry platform (and many different BlackBerry devices from the BlackBerry 8703e to the BlackBerry 9650), I have come to the realization that it’s time to move to another platform. For me personally, the best option is Android.

As a Verizon Wireless customer, there’s no short of Android devices available for me to choose from. The choice, however, was easy. In fact, I decided to go with a device released in the first quarter of this year. I am, of course, talking about the HTC Droid Incredible. Having reviewed most (if not all) of Verizon’s high-end Android devices, I find that the Incredible is the best fit for me. A decent size, decent tech specs, and it’s most certainly not MotoBlur.

Apple Can’t Meet iPhone Demand in China

Much like Apple experienced tremendous issues supplying iPad tablets to the general public here in the United States, the California-based company is also experiencing issues in getting iPhones in the hands of consumers in China.

According to China Unicom, China’s flagship wireless carrier, Apple is yet to supply all users who pre-ordered an iPhone with an actual unit. Out of 600,000 orders, it’s unclear as to just how many devices have been delivered to date.

It’s certainly strange, especially since the devices are, in fact, manufactured in China. We suppose, however, that Apple’s focusing on delivering units to customers in the United States before anything.

The information does not originate from what many others would claim to be “insiders,” but rather, comes from an ordinary consumer like you and me.
